About Whitewater:
Although Whitewater Gospel Mission is located within the boundaries of our own United States, it is a foreign mission field. It is a mission field that is just as steeped in sin as any that lies across the ocean.
The Navajo reservation constitutes an area nearly four times as large as the state of Massachusetts and it is larger than ten individual states. This semi desert waste land is unable to support Navajos that struggle to make a living. The 2000 census reported 298,215 Navajo people living throughout the United States, of which 173,987 were living within the Navajo Nation boundaries. Many still do not speak English.
Due to the culture and the past history of the treatment of the Navajo people, it takes weeks, months and years to earn trust. Trust has to be built person by person. The work is slow but the result is everlasting. It is a real joy to see people move from the darkness of no hope to the light of the hope that is in Jesus Christ. The future of the Navajo Nation is the children and it is our responsibility to teach them truth from error. It is our sincere desire to reach as many of these people as possible. Pray that Navajo souls will come to know the “one whom to know is life eternal”.
The mission station of Whitewater Gospel Mission is located at 1603 S. Highway 602 Vanderwagen, New Mexico (just 18.5 miles south of Gallup, New Mexico). Visitors are always welcome! If you are going to be in the area and desire to visit, we will appreciate it if you contact us prior to your visit so we can arrange to have someone show you around.

Whitewater Bible Institute: Herbert Francisco teaches an in-depth evening Bible Class from August to mid May. Camp Meetings: The mission sponsors three camp meetings yearly; held in March, June and September.
Clothing Distribution: Many in our area of ministry still have need for good used clothing particularly children and men’s winter coats.

“In Country — Out Of Culture” Mission Trips: Each year high school and college youth from Christian Schools and Church youth groups come to White Water Gospel Mission for 1-2 weeks at a time. While here the youth are considered “short term missionaries.” Each group has a definite physical or spiritual project, and are responsible for their own survival. Please email for further information on this ministry.
Past spiritual projects have included: Vacation Bible School Sports camps; Puppet ministries; Ladies Bible studies; Family appreciation dinners.
Past major physical projects have included: The beginnings of a sports complex with soccer, volleyball, and basketball courts; Installing a new kitchen in one of the mission houses; Building an outside stairway to the 2nd floor of the main ministry house; Painting all buildings; Building a barrier free entrance to the Sunday School building.
Groups have visited us from Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa. Kansas, Michigan, Ohio and Texas. Whitewater Gospel Mission is always looking for like-minded groups to come and help for short periods of time.
